Job Title: Supply Chain Planner

Working Pattern: 37 hours/ Days

Working location: Derby

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Planner in Derby. The Supply Chain Planning team are responsible for the deployment and maintenance of robust processes to ensure an accurate understanding of customer requirements, supply plans, supply chain load and capacity, and supply chain risk. We drive credibility in demand and supply planning across short, medium and long term horizons. We are responsible for the integration of supply chain plans across Submarines and Customers and provide reporting insights to drive performance improvement. We also measure and monitor ERP compliance and data integrity, which is a foundation of our supply plans.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. We’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration, this would be a minimum of three days per week but as required for the role.

What you will be doing:

Taking the lead on deployment of supply chain planning processes and governance in Supply Chain. Supporting on time delivery by driving effective planning across short, medium and long-term planning horizons. Taking the lead on local policy, guidance and process improvements to develop our ways of working. Providing important insights to the supply chain management team, to enable the best outcomes for the customer. Providing training and guidance to the Supply Chain Planning community, and promoting best practice.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive the 13 week planning cycle, to ensure each team produces a credible plan to meet customer demands including inventory, logistics and storage considerations.
  • Ensure compliant use of the executive ERP system with robust credible data that creates suitable supply plans through appropriate governance and controls
  • Manage any assigned orderbook/project plans and make balanced decisions to ensure business priorities are supported to best satisfy customer demands
  • Work with Supply Chain Planners to ensure accurate stock at vendor in the executive ERP system
  • To identify and deliver improvements to processes and ways of working
  • Manage local P&C guidance and policy, and promote best practice
  • To carry out and input to required business and operational reviews to understand capability to deliver to demand requirements, to define and manage actions to mitigate risks and issues
  • To operate to the relevant policies and procedures as defined and comply with RRMS

  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification (e g APICS)
  • Experience of supply chain planning & control is essential
  • Has the ability to lead and influence others
  • Demonstrated track record in process improvement and reporting
  • Ability to make balanced business decisions under challenging circumstances
  • Able to take responsibility for their own work and development
  • Working knowledge of, and experience with MRP and/or ERP systems
  • Understanding of different roles, functions, processes (e g Manufacturing, Purchase, NPI, Quality)

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.
