DIRECTORATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS
Under the guidance of the Secretary-General, the core mission of the Directorate for Communications (COM) is to maximise the reach and impact of the OECD and its work through clear, cutting-edge and evidence-based communications. The Directorate works in accordance with the OECD Communications Strategy and pursuant to the annual communication plans for which it is responsible, steering organisational efforts on strategic priorities and supporting policy directorates in their communications to specialised audiences. THE COMMUNICATIONS IMPACT, STANDARDS & CAPACITY BUILDING DIVISION (CISC)
Within the Communications Directorate, the mission of the Communications Impact, Standards & Capacity Building Division is to build and facilitate a collaborative community of excellence among communication staff at the OECD (the ONE COM function) by promoting effective and consistent communications practices and developing a learning and improvement culture. Specifically, the division works with communications staff across the Organisation to:
Provide strategic analysis
Evaluate performance
Monitor the reputation of the OECD and build capability to react to mis-disinformation
Build the capacity and skills of communications staff
Establish and ensure compliance with corporate standards in all communications areas
Provide guidance on reputational risk and rights management
COM is looking for a Junior Standards and Best Practices Officer, working under the Head of the Standard & Capacity Building Unit within CISC. The selected candidate should be passionate about communications and publications, curious about latest trends and willing to support and guide their colleagues. She/he will respond to queries from communications professionals across the OECD, providing expert advice on publications rights, corporate branding and capacity building initiatives in these areas.
Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Support and guidance directorates regarding the OECD’s communications policies, standards, guidelines and best practices.
Within the COM Support team, respond to questions from directorates and COM colleagues, with a focus on publications rights and corporate branding.
Track and analyse queries to identify trends, and inform future guidance, training and service improvements.
Contribute to the development and implementation of guidance and capacity building tools .
Support the Standards and Capacity Building Officers in the design, development and implementation of guidance and training materials related to publications rights and corporate branding.
Collaborate closely with the Publications and Reputational Risk Units to ensure their expertise and input are reflected in all materials and training activities.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate profile
Academic background
A University degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, law, publishing or other discipline related to OECD topics.
Professional background
At least one initial work experience in communications and publications.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team, to support and assist others, and to perform whatever tasks are necessary to help the team achieve its goals.
Experience in an international environment and the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to cultivate productive relationships and to diplomatically handle sensitive situations.
Demonstrated understanding in checking written content for basic coherence, clarity and accuracy.
Tools
Comfortable and competent in the Microsoft 360 environment and its tools.
Core competencies
OECD staff are expected to demonstrate behaviours aligned to six core competencies which will be assessed as part of this hiring processes: Vision and Strategy (Level 1); Enable People (Level 1); Ethics and Integrity (Level 1); Collaboration and Horizontality (Level 2); Achieve Results (Level 1); Innovate and Embrace Change (Level 1).
There are three possible levels for each competency. The level for each competency is determined according to the specific needs of each job role and its associated grade.

Languages
Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.

Contract duration
24 month fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal to a maximum of 36 months.
What the OECD offers
Monthly salary starts at either 4 556 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.

Selection Process
For retained candidates, written tests/video-recorded interviews are foreseen in November and panel interviews are planned for December.
