At Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), we’re proud to be home to Southeastern Ontario’s first PET scanner—an exciting advancement in diagnostic imaging. As a Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you’ll play a leadership role in clinical excellence, workflow coordination, and quality improvement. You’ll guide technologists and students, support departmental operations, and help shape the future of molecular imaging at KHSC.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Perform clinical duties as a Nuclear Medicine and PET Technologist
  • Lead day-to-day workflow coordination and provide guidance to technologists
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate servicing
  • Onboard and mentor new staff and students, providing regular evaluations
  • Act as Radiation Safety Officer, Alternate RSO, or Radiation Safety Technologist
  • Collaborate with bookings, PET, and Radiologists to ensure timely patient care
  • Maintain communication with Radiologists on protocol optimization and image quality
  • Monitor compliance with CNSC regulations and KHSC Radiation Safety Manual
  • Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and imaging protocols
  • Participate in research studies and equipment/supply selection
  • Manage inventory and provide input on product needs
  • Ensure all work meets accuracy, reliability, and safety standards

 

What You Bring

  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology program
  • Radiation Safety Officer certificate (or willingness to pursue)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine or PET Technologist, with at least 1 year in the last 5 years
  • Experience operating Nuclear Medicine scanning and accessory equipment
  • Competency in protocol development and evaluation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism, discretion, and maturity in handling confidential matters
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and independent decision-making
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and hospital systems
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly
  • Clear criminal reference and vulnerable sector check
