Job Description

πŸš€ The Job Mission
This is a site-based role located in Bridgwater. Relocation support is available for candidates moving closer to site. As a Piping Engineer, you will drive the successful delivery of the mechanical, electrical, and HVAC piping scope at Hinkley Point C. You’ll lead site-based engineering through to commissioning, ensuring seamless integration of works within the wider piping programme.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the delivery of piping installation within designated site areas
Creating and updating technical specifications and inspection plans
Resolving construction queries, technical issues, and change requests
Reviewing and coordinating contractor deliverables and installation documentation
Supporting updates to design and works information documents
Preparing and assisting with technical meetings and reviews
Providing real-time engineering support to maintain installation progress
Ensuring construction aligns with post-construction needs such as pressure tests and inspection packs

Qualifications

πŸ›  Essential Skills

Proven engineering experience in construction and installation environments
Strong technical knowledge with a focus on engineering standards
Leadership skills to support and guide site-based engineering teams
Experience influencing and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders
Understanding of contracts and commercial interfaces
Confidence to make independent decisions with clear escalation awareness
Familiarity with fast-paced, schedule-driven project delivery

Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
Experience with pressurised water reactor systems and operations
Knowledge of UK construction safety regulations (CDM)
