ALTEN UK is seeking an experienced Site Performance Engineer to join a major nuclear energy construction project, ensuring seamless coordination between construction, quality, and engineering teams. You’ll play a key role in developing, validating, and executing the Shift S+1 Installation Plan, supporting the successful delivery of on-site construction activities.
Job Description
What will you be doing?
As a Site Performance Engineer, you will join our team in Bridgewater to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector.
Planning & Coordination
Build and maintain the Shift S+1 Installation Plan in collaboration with Construction Management, Site Supervision (Black Hats), Quality, and Engineering teams.
Ensure planning considers building restrictions, material availability, approved documentation, and workforce resources.
Lead the Shift S+1 Validation Meeting and Shift Kick-off Meeting to align teams on execution priorities.
Contribute to long-term planning (16WLA) and coordinate schedule updates.
Develop and maintain contingency “backup work” plans to mitigate unexpected delays or blockers.
2. On-site Production Monitoring
Conduct daily site walks to monitor installation progress and identify blockers (e.g., access, materials, documentation, workforce).
Coordinate directly with Construction Managers, Black Hats, and site teams to resolve issues quickly and minimise productivity loss.
Ensure the validated Shift S+1 Plan is adhered to, and deviations are justified.
Collaborate with Site Engineering and Design Back Office to support technical issue resolution.
Keep contingency actions updated to maintain project flow.
3. Performance Analysis & Reporting
Track and analyse daily production output (planned vs actual) and lost time/root causes.
Identify productivity trends, recurrent blockages, and systemic inefficiencies.
Categorise blockers as internal or external, proposing solutions and escalating recurring issues.
Liaise with Quantity Surveyors (QS) to document external stoppages and assess claimability.
Lead the creation of the Monthly Onsite Construction Progress Report, ensuring accurate data and clear analysis of project performance.
