Your role

  • Lead multidisciplinary design across the full lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.
  • Own key C&I deliverables: specifications, control philosophies, basis of design, instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, i I/O lists, and technical substantiation reports.
  • Develop control system architectures, including I/O allocation, communication protocols, network topologies and cybersecurity considerations.
  • Ensure safety and compliance through contributions to HAZOPs, SIL assessments, HAZAN and FMEA and application of functional safety standards (BS EN 61508/61511/61513).
  • Support procurement, construction, installation and commissioning with clear documentation and technical leadership.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of our C&I capability.
  • Act as a trusted technical point of contact for clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to bids and early project development through schedule preparation, risk management and technical input.

About you

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Instrumentation or Control engineering.
  • Significant experience delivering C&I engineering across complex or safety critical projects
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation selection and qualification safety instrumented systems, nuclear safety principles, EMC and process control .
  • Working knowledge of IEC/BS standards and functional safety frameworks.
  • Clear communication, collaborative working style and the ability to influence and guide others.
  • Motivation to innovate, improve processes and contribute to a growing technical community.
  • Salary range: £52k –£67k, subject to experience.
