Job Description
What will you be doing?
We’re looking for a Radiation Physics Engineer to support a major nuclear programme, where precision modelling, shielding design, and safety assessments are key to protecting people and systems from ionising radiation.
This is a great opportunity to apply advanced nuclear physics knowledge in a high-impact, regulated environment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on reactor systems, shielding design, and compliance with nuclear safety standards.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Modelling and simulating radiation transport using industry-recognised tools.
Supporting the design of radiation shielding and protection systems for nuclear facilities.
Conducting dose rate calculations, activation analyses, and radiological assessments.
Interpreting and applying nuclear safety standards and radiation protection regulations.
Collaborating with engineers and safety teams to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Preparing technical documentation and presenting analysis results to internal stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
Solid foundation in nuclear or radiation physics.
Experience in radiation shielding, protection, or transport modelling.
Hands-on experience with Monte Carlo simulation codes – ideally MCNP.
Exposure to Attila4MC or similar deterministic transport software (a bonus).
Familiarity with nuclear regulatory requirements and radiological safety standards.
Strong communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.

Experience, skills and qualifications required:
Degree (or higher) in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or a related discipline.
Demonstrable experience working in the nuclear sector or a radiation-heavy environment.
