Summary:

This position is recognized as a supplier quality improvement engineer (SQIE) and is responsible primarily for the preliminary supplier audits (system audit), monitoring the quality performance of suppliers, Initiate, implement, monitor the quality improvement actions at supplier in an efficient manner following established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create, Release, communicate supplier audit program.
  • Coordinate preliminary audit meetings.
  • Conduct supplier audits, preliminary audits and planned audits as per audit plan.
  • Evaluate audit results, identify non-conformities and derive corrective actions.
  • Initiate, implement and monitor quality improvement actions at supplier.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and continual improvement actions with supplier.
  • Troubleshoot/analyze continuous/reoccurring quality problems and work with supplier to resolve them, in a commitment for continuous improvement.
  • Organize and facilitate teams for problem solving issue resolution.
  • Maintain supplier quality and delivery through assessment, evaluation and ongoing monitoring.
  • Assertively resolve all product quality, quality systems related issues with suppliers.
  • Work/Communicate with order management, production, quality department on any supplier quality issues/questions.
  • Responsible for following supplier audit, supplier development, supplier performance procedures. Procedures can be found on our company intranet.
  • Perform special projects as required.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.
  • Take up part Development project from APQP to successful ‘Right First Time’ delivery of samples.
  • Thorough understanding of PPAP.

Minimum Qualifications -

Education/Experience:

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering
  • 10-15 years of professional experience supplier quality management, supplier audits, supplier development production, quality management, application technology or similar.
  • Professional experience as a supplier auditor in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of audit procedures, methods and techniques usually proven by auditor training (certificate) regarding ISO 9001, possibly ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Experience in evaluation and documentation of supplier audits, audit planning, audit reports, evaluation, tracking of corrective actions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Good leadership, effective communication skills, interpersonal and customers/suppliers-relationship.

• Professional approach.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently with others.

• Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 standards and procedures.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP skills.

• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels within the organization, along with external contacts.

• Proven problem-solving skills.

• Willing to travel extensively across India at supplier locations.

• Business fluency in English, knowledge of German Language will be added advantage.

• Good team player, cooperativeness, assertiveness and negotiating skills.
