Working Pattern: Full-time – 37 hours – 60:40 Onsite / Remote with Travel (Bristol/London/Cardiff)

Join us as Project Lead – Integration & Engagement (Project Delivery Professional), where you will engage across a complex landscape that draws on multidisciplinary expertise, to establish clear governance frameworks within Technology Programmes that integrate with business standards and underpin the work of our engineering teams on next generation product technologies.

You will work closely with the wider Project team, Assistant Chief Engineering teams, our customer’s network of Technical Leads and wider key stakeholders in the UK Ministry of Defence to achieve this – as well as wider partners across the UK technical base. In role you will report to the Project Delivery Manager – Capability & Future Product. You will play a leading role within a wider team of project delivery professionals to integrate interfaces across the business, and with our customer, to align demands and assure clear and shared priorities, driving project coherency and effective collaboration.

Rolls-Royce Submarines is a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority. This role sits within the Future Programmes department, where we work closely with our customer, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), to advance the UK’s submarine programme and ensure the UK has the capability it requires, to meet the mission demands of today and tomorrow.

What you will be doing:

As a Project Governance & Engagement Lead, you will:

  • Contribute to a team of project delivery professionals to operate at a high standard and deliver exceptional service – creating an environment that enables people to excel by sharing strengths and working as a collaborative team.
  • Work closely with the Project Delivery Manager and Project Lead to integrate all aspects of stakeholder engagement across the business – and with the customer – to establish and operate effective, collaborative governance arrangements aligned to our business processes (project and engineering).
  • Lead on distilling voluminous, complex information (programme and engineering) to simplified written summaries and visualisations, able to be tailored for consumption by all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with the delivery team to maintain a clear line of sight on programme direction and manage related engagement and communication with relevant stakeholders.

  • Governance: experience establishing and operating robust governance frameworks and effective forums that underpin cross-boundary engagement, working with programme, engineering and functional teams.

  • Leadership: leading aspects of work within high performing teams – delivering for internal and external stakeholders. Able to work collaboratively to deliver quality outputs, at pace, with clear a case and evidence.
  • Technical communication experience beneficial: experience in the absorption, decomposition and reproduction of highly technical information to simplified narratives.

  • Programme or account management experience: knowledge of project management practices, including business cases, risk and benefits management; APM PMQ, APMG PPC or equivalent experience.
  • Resilience: experience working within challenging environments, with significant levels of personal resilience, persistence, and commitment.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
