Job Description
What will you be doing?
As a Plant performance engineer, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the technical assessment and optimisation of energy systems within a high-profile nuclear programme. This role blends performance modelling, cost analysis, and systems engineering to ensure the next generation of low-carbon energy solutions are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Perform thermodynamic modelling and energy performance analysis of complex nuclear systems
Support (Levelised Cost of Energy) calculations and carbon accounting
Contribute to requirements management using tools like IBM DOORS
Engage in system-level design integration and energy optimisation
Collaborate with engineering, regulatory, and environmental teams to support decision-making across the lifecycle
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for analytical, systems-focused engineers with a passion for energy innovation and a strong grounding in thermodynamics or energy systems. Ideally, you’ll bring experience from nuclear, power generation, or similarly regulated sectors.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Energy Systems, Physics, or a similar field
Strong technical foundation in thermodynamics, fluid systems, or industrial energy applications
Familiarity with IBM DOORS or other requirements management tools
Knowledge of nuclear safety principles and design compliance is desirable
