About the Role:

The Nuclear Med Tech plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials. This position is essential for providing accurate and timely results that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. The Nuclear Med Tech will ensure patient safety and comfort while adhering to strict protocols and regulations regarding radiation exposure. Additionally, this role involves maintaining and calibrating imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy. Ultimately, the Nuclear Med Tech contributes significantly to patient care and the overall effectiveness of the radiology department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate Nuclear Medicine program
  • Current certification with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certification eligible post-graduation from a Nuclear Medicine Program. If registry eligible, must complete the certification with a passing grade within one year following hire date.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
  • Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in a radiology department.
  • Additional certifications in advanced imaging techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during exams along with obtaining nuclear images for interpretation.Β 
  • Maintaining high quality of professionalism in dealing with patients.
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including PET and SPECT scans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, monitoring their reactions and providing necessary care.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.
  • Document and report imaging results accurately, collaborating with physicians to discuss findings.
  • Educate patients about procedures, addressing any concerns to ensure a positive experience.

The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles and the ability to operate complex imaging equipment.
