Job Description

What will you be doing?

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a high-profile programme within the nuclear sector. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative and complex engineering projects, contributing to the design and delivery of next-generation infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Produce high-quality technical documentation, including reports and design justifications.
Support engineering teams by applying mechanical design expertise across large and complex projects.
Apply systems engineering principles to ensure integration of mechanical solutions within wider project requirements.
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure mechanical designs are robust, safe, and fit for purpose.
Contribute to technical authoring activities, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with project needs.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

5+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer within complex engineering sectors (e.g., nuclear, defence, aerospace, or infrastructure).
Proven experience in documentation writing, report preparation, or technical authoring.
Strong background in mechanical design and integration with wider systems.
Understanding of systems engineering principles.
Ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary project environments.
Degree Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (essential).
