Job Description
What will you be doing?
As a Mechanical Design Engineer – High-Integrity Pressure Systems, you will join our advanced engineering team supporting the development of critical mechanical systems within the nuclear energy sector. You’ll play a key role in designing and realising complex pressure equipment used in demanding, high-integrity environments—contributing directly to the technologies shaping the future of sustainable energy.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Lead or support the detailed design of pressure equipment such as reactor vessels, heat exchangers, filters, and tanks.
Develop engineering solutions from concept to final definition, including 3D models, drawings, documentation, and design justifications.
Work collaboratively within integrated project teams, alongside suppliers and manufacturing experts, to deliver cost-effective and technically robust designs.
Navigate evolving requirements through structured problem-solving, iterative design development, and cross-functional coordination.
Contribute to technical governance processes, including peer reviews and design risk assessments.
Support product lifecycle activities including manufacturing readiness, integration planning, and maintaining digital traceability.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking proactive mechanical engineers who thrive on complex technical challenges and want to be part of the nuclear energy transformation. If you have experience designing pressure systems in safety-critical industries—and enjoy translating design concepts into buildable, compliant hardware—you’ll thrive in this role. We welcome applicants from nuclear, oil & gas, defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated sectors.
