We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) team, supporting CMM and GOM Inspection.

What you will be doing:

With this new role, you’ll have an opportunity to work on the following:

Process Design

  • Support Manufacturing Component Owner in DFM sessions for CMC components to improve manufacturability.
  • Work with component design engineering to define best dimensioning scheme around functional need of components/design intent, limitations of GDT, and current measurement technologies
  • Work with component design to create characteristic matrix plan.
  • Collaborate with HTC team and design teams to transition new products from development to manufacturing.

Capability Acquisition

  • Support Capability Acquisition Lead Engineer to spec and procure measurement equipment to industrialize the inspection of CMC products.

Process Development

  • Complete MSA Studies, Inspection plans.
  • Define and Implement Pre and Post coating Inspection methods.
  • Create and Implement Visual Inspection techniques utilizing the latest automation technologies.
  • Collaborate with HTC team and design teams to transition new products from development to manufacturing.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree plus 3 years of related engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 1 year of related engineering experience
  • Master’s Degree
  • JD/Ph.D.
  • In lieu of a degree, 5 years of related engineering experience
  • In order to be considered for this role you must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident

Preferred:

  • Experience with Zeiss Calypso software and Siemens NX
  • Experience with GOM
  • Understanding Windows computer systems, file permissions, network drives
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Experience with aerospace materials, tolerances and processes, PFMEA, PPAP, Process Excellence (six sigma), and Lean Manufacturing best practices is strongly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as are interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow up skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects/programs.
  • Experience in the management and implementation of manufacturing technologies and processes using an MRCL or Technology Readiness Level (TRL) gated process, would be an advantage.
