Job Description
The salary for this role is £42,858 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance - £3,000). O nsite working is expected for 4 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role can be based at Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to support the Electrical Services Group. In this role, you will provide vital engineering expertise to ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Culham site's power supply infrastructure and low-voltage control systems, all while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
You will be responsible for leading small to medium-sized projects involving complex high and low voltage electrical equipment, including minor installations, system modifications, technical assessments, and the preparation of supporting documentation. Additionally, you will carry out fault-finding on electrical systems and ensure that all proposed solutions are technically sound and reliable. The role requires a high level of competency, including the ability to supervise work on electrical systems and maintain a strong focus on safety and performance.

Additional Responsibilities:
Oversee planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and safety standards.
Manage internal staff, contractors, and apprentices, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Prepare and review engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and specifications to support safe and effective operations.
Plan, implement, and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance using CMMS, ensuring documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Conduct analysis, interpret supplier data, control costs, advise on electrical design, and assist project engineers in broader initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualified electrician with an electrical craft apprenticeship or an HNC in an electrical discipline
BS7671 18th Edition pass
City & Guilds 2395 or equivalent (Testing & Inspection)
Significant work experience as an electrician in an industrial/commercial environment
Supervisory and leadership experience
