Duties/Pligte
Conducting independent and collaborative research in experimental nuclear physics.
Contributing to the teaching and development of undergraduate and postgraduate physics courses.
Supervising honours, master's, and doctoral students.
Participating in departmental services, committees and activities.
Contributing to developing new national and international research initiatives and collaborations which support the Department's activities in teaching and learning, research, transformation,
and social impact.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
PhD in experimental nuclear physics.
Demonstrated experience in the application of Machine Learning techniques and simulations in experimental nuclear instrumentation and data analysis, particularly in high-energy or
nuclear detector systems.
Evidence of research activity comparable, particularly in experimental nuclear physics and detector technology.
A developing track record of peer-reviewed publications and participation in recognised international research collaborations.
The ability to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and student supervision.
PhD in eksperimentele kernfisika.
Bewese ervaring in die toepassing van Masjienleer tegnieke en simulasies in eksperimentele kerninstrumentasie en data-analise, veral in ho•-energie of kerndetektorstelsels.
Bewyse van vergelykbare navorsingsaktiwiteite, veral in eksperimentele kernfisika en detektortegnologie.
'n Ontwikkelende rekord van eweknie-ge•valueerde publikasies en deelname aan erkende internasionale navorsingsamewerkings.

Involvement in large-scale international collaborations, such as the ATLAS experiment at CERN, with specific involvement in the development of offline software for the Inner
