Electric Materials is in need is an Human Resources Intern for Summer 2025.

Electric Materials manufactures high-quality electrical commutators, AC rotors, copper extrusions, forgings, and copper castings. Our products are sold around the world and service the electrical power, mining, transportation, military, and architectural markets. We custom engineer and manufacture products for the transportation, oil and gas, steel mill, power generation and distribution, mining, military, and nuclear industries.

About the Role:

As a Human Resources Intern at Electric Materials Company, your major end result will be to support the HR team in various aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will gain hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our organization by ensuring a positive employee experience and maintaining compliance with HR policies and procedures. This role will provide you with a solid foundation in HR practices and prepare you for a successful career in the field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or coursework in Human Resources.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking software.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and conducting initial screenings.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations, and coordinating training sessions.
  • Handle employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining employee records and updating HR databases.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs and performance management processes.

Skills:

In this role, you will utilize your strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate and efficient HR processes. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will be essential in effectively communicating with employees and providing guidance on HR policies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite will enable you to create and maintain HR documents and databases. Additionally, your ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism will contribute to building trust and maintaining employee privacy. Preferred qualifications such as previous HR experience, familiarity with HRIS systems, and knowledge of employment laws will further enhance your ability to support the HR team and contribute to the success of our organization.
