THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Associate performs transactional and administrative functions across various
human resource activities aimed at optimizing HR processes and enhancing the employee experience at Denison. As part of the
corporate HR team, the HR Associate acts as a primary contact for employee inquiries and actively contributes to the recruitment,
onboarding, and retention of skilled personnel within the organization.

This fixed-termopportunity is ideal for a student seeking a co-op or summer employment in the field to acquire hands-on HR
experience in a fast-paced work environment. The HR Associate position will start on or around May 1, 2025, for a term of up to 4
months working 40 hours/week in Denison's corporate office in downtown Toronto on a Monday-to-Friday schedule.

development. The individual must possess self-awareness, along with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling
them to establish collaborative relationships across diverse teams and organizational levels as a trusted and reliable professional.
Additional qualifications and attributes include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of related business degree and diploma in Human Resources Management from a recognized
post-secondary institution is required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience is required, CHRP designation or pursuit thereof is preferred.
  • Willingness to continuously learn on-the-job to acquire and enhance knowledge, skills and abilities for competency across a
broad range of HR-related functions.
  • Solid proficiency with office productivity software, including Microsoft Office Suite, accompanied by a willingness to learn and
use other technologies and software as required.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
efficiently and effectively.
  • Sound judgment and initiative and adept at managing own performance against key milestone deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that support safe, collaborative and inclusive relationships with across all levels of the organization
within a hybrid workplace environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate, collaborate, persuade and influence others
effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently gather, analyze, and interpret various data sets, and manage and maintain
confidential data appropriately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with a continuous improvement mindset to adapt in a dynamic and changing
environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and ability to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and assigned is

required.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing support and escalating issues to HR

management as needed.

Human Resources Associate
Location: Toronto, Ontario

  • Develop and disseminate job postings across multiple platforms, ensuring content accurately represents the job requirements
and attracts suitable candidates.
  • Review incoming resumes, assess candidates for minimum qualifications, and facilitate interview coordination with hiring
managers.
  • Maintain prompt communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, which includes scheduling interviews,
delivering updates, and preparing offer letters.
  • Facilitate a smooth organizational induction by coordinating employee onboarding activities including but not limited to
preparing and distributing new hire orientation packages, establishing user profiles, coordinating with relevant departments
for first-day activities, and assigning workstations, access credentials, and safety training, ensuring a consistent and positive
onboarding experience across all Denison locations.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from new hires regarding their onboarding experience and conduct exit interviews for departing
employees as necessary to pinpoint areas for continuous improvement.
  • Review and validate timecards, assist in the preparation of payroll adjustments including bonuses, vacation, and sick pay, and
generate summary reports for payroll processing, serving as the designated payroll backup when required.
  • Support employees with inquiries related to benefits program enrolment, modifications, and questions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, inclusive of employee files, benefits selections, applicant logs, and electronic
databases.
  • Utilize existing software platforms to enhance data management practices encompassing recruitment tracking, employee
information management, and report generation.
  • Collaborate in the optimization of HR processes by identifying inefficiencies, proposing enhancements, and aiding in the
execution of new protocols.
  • Develop and implement engaging communication strategies for disseminating HR-related information to employees as
required.
  • Assist in the formulation, revision, documentation, and dissemination of HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure
compliance with legal standards and alignment with company values.
  • Update and maintain HR key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate necessary reports.
  • Facilitate the organization of annual policy affirmations and other training sessions, which includes booking venues, arranging
materials, and coordinating with trainers.
  • Assist with various HR projects as assigned, including special initiatives, system improvements, or company-wide events, along

with other duties as directed.
