Currently, our Business Development & Transformation division has a Business Development Technical Analyst opportunity. The Business Development & Transformation division is accountable for driving strategic initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing innovative solutions that support the organization's long-term goals and operational excellence.

The Business Development Technical Analyst plays a key role in supporting the evaluation, planning, and execution of strategic initiatives within the Business Development & Transformation division. This role involves conducting detailed analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement, and contributing to the successful delivery of transformation projects that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

This is a term position which may be for a period of up to 60 months, offers a competitive compensation package and is located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario.

More than 1 position may be available.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Elicit business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding to support analysis of new business development opportunities or transformation initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required

Specific Responsibilities:

Transformation Work

  • Support Strategic and Targeted Win Teams to execute on transformation priorities including prepare reports, identify gaps between plan and actual performance, inputting into the Business Transformation Index
  • Help to identify and implement process improvements across the business by working with business leads to develop and implement appropriate improvement plans to identify and address process gaps or inefficiencies and work with appropriate process owners to implement the improvement plan.
  • Preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials for Business Development Leadership
  • Track and report on all transformation initiatives on site, including development of a centralized reporting process to ensure all transformation data is consistent and updated regularly.
  • Track KPIs and identify possible gaps or delays in milestone completion.

Nuclear Development Work

  • Maintain awareness of complementary technologies that could be deployed alongside new nuclear and potential alignment with BD objectives (e.g. data centers, battery/long duration energy storage)
  • Maintain awareness of Technology vendors and developments of technology and potential alignment with BD objectives
  • Maintain awareness of electricity generation, storage and transmission projects in Ontario and potential risks/opportunities for Bruce C
  • Support updates to BD and Business leadership on market developments across new nuclear, complementary technologies, and Ontario’s electricity market
  • Coordinate with vendors supporting Business Development work
  • Support project planning, coordination, market analysis, and presentation development for Business Development work
    • E.g. assessment of new business opportunities, coordination with sector partners, support for managing research projects with organizations like NII
  • Support for integration and alignment with New Build and IA teams related to Bruce C e.g. on cost-recovery or complementary technologies

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Comfort with uncertainty/ability to take a high-level problem statement and direction and distill into specific actions/requirements
  • Requires knowledge of academic subjects of decision support systems, information systems and relevant computer and information systems skills

Education and Experience:

  • This knowledge is normally considered to be gained through the completion of a four (4) year University Degree in an appropriate field such as Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering.
  • A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years of experience is required.
  • Experience supporting business transformation/process improvement initiatives and/or business development initiatives, within the energy sector.
