The Role

Are you someone who looks at how things are done and thinks, “there must be a better way”?

We’re looking for a summer intern to join our Procurement and Supply Chain team, focused on automation and process optimisation. This role offers the opportunity to work on real transformation initiatives helping us rethink, streamline, and improve how procurement operates in a fast-growing, high-technology environment

You will work hands-on in a fast-paced, innovative environment, contributing directly to initiatives that improve how we deliver as a business.

By the end of your placement, you will have a strong grounding in procurement and supply chain, along with a unique cross-functional perspective on how a complex technology organisation delivers projects at pace.

 

What You'll Be Doing

Automation & process Improvement

  • Identify and develop opportunities to streamline procurement and supply chain processes using automation tools (e.g. Power Automate & workflows)
  • Design and help implement automated workflows (e.g. requisition approvals, supplier onboarding and data reporting)
  • Map current (“as-is”) processes and defining improved (“to-be”) processes

Data & Performance Insights

  • Analyse procurement data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility of procurement activity and performance
  • Contribute to KPI development aligned to operational excellence objectives
  • Provide administrative support to the procurement and supply chain team

Procurement Support

  • Assist with sourcing activities, supplier engagement, and documentation preparation
  • Create, track, and actively manage purchase orders
  • Maintain accurate procurement and supplier records
  • Actively manage and expedite purchase orders

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work with engineering, finance, and operational teams to understand requirements and improve procurement processes
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback on current processes and identify automation opportunities

We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious, proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo. If you enjoy questioning how processes work and bringing forward ideas to improve them, this role will give you the opportunity to turn those ideas into real outcomes.

 

Essential

·        Currently studying a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·        Interest in process improvement, digital tools, or automation

·        Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders

·        High attention to detail and structured approach to tasks

 

Desirable

·        Exposure to Power Automate, Excel or similar tools

·        Understanding of procurement or supply chain fundamentals

·        Interest in data analysis, dashboards, or process mapping
