Position: Mechanical Repair Worker
Location: Palisades Energy

Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of Mechanical Repair Worker in its Maintenance department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.

Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation!

Job Summary:
Repair complex equipment such as reactors, turbines, generators, feed-water heaters, condensers, pumps, valves, etc. Less Complex Machining using portable equipment. Must do essential functions of lower rated jobs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct up to 4 employees and perform duties such as performing maintenance activities on mechanical equipment and components.
  • Operation of precision measuring equipment including pump alignment and lapping valves.
  • Participate in plant assessment programs.
  • Planning work activities related to mechanical maintenance of the plant structures and components.
  • Perform duties as training subject matter expert.
  • Perform quality verification inspections.
  • Perform other similar and related work activities within the skill level of the classification as directed by management/ supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Previous Nuclear Plant experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have a practical working knowledge of machine shop tools and practices.
  • Must have practical working knowledge of steam, electrical, and mechanical apparatus.
  • Must successfully complete the required training programs as they relate to the job description.
  • Successful completion of the EEI MASS test.


THIS IS A UNION POSITION
Hourly wage (based on level): $47.41 - $54.07
