This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
Our Fire Protection Engineering group is seeking a dynamic Fire Protection Engineer with outstanding technical and problem-solving abilities; and has interpersonal relationship building and excellent time management skills. Our mission is to minimize the likelihood of occurrence of a fire-related event, minimize the consequence of a fire-related event affecting the workers, public, environment, and property, and provide a level of safety protection consistent with the "highly protected risk" class of industrial risks.
The Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) maintains, implements, and improves the Fire Protection Program at the 222-S Laboratory Complex. This role advises and aids in interpreting fire codes and standards. The FPE reviews construction and fire protection designs, drawings, calculations, schedules, and documentation to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and standards and communicates necessary changes. Additionally, the FPE evaluates fire protection appliances, devices, fire-detection equipment, alarm systems, and sprinkler systems.

Grade 18: $109,013 - $137,538
Grade 20: $131,888 - $166,263
Grade 21: $145,150 - $183,050
The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market.
