Role Summary:


The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, troubleshoots, and performs technical failure diagnostics on control valves, actuators, and positioners (pneumatic, electropneumatic, and digital) in sectors such as oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater, depending on customer needs.


In this challenging position the Field Service Technician (FST) provides real-time technical support to our customers, and provides recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement equipment. The FST is actively engaged in troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions onsite at nearby customer facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform technical diagnostics of failures in control valves, actuators, and positioners (pneumatic, electropneumatic, and digital).

• Carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on control valves, including disassembly, inspection, parts replacement, reassembly, and adjustments.

• Conduct functional tests, stroke tests, calibration, and performance validation both in the field and on the bench.

• Respond to emergency interventions, identifying root causes of operational failures and recommending corrective actions.

• Execute commissioning and start-up of control valves in industrial plants.

• Prepare technical service reports, including diagnostics, detected failures, performed services, and recommendations.

• Interpret technical drawings, datasheets, P&IDs, and manufacturer manuals.

• Strictly comply with safety, environmental, and occupational health standards, especially in classified areas and offshore environments.

• Support customers on-site, providing technical assistance and operational guidance.

• Work in accordance with internal procedures, international standards, and contractual requirements.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Technical degree in Mechanics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields.

• Proven experience in diagnostics and maintenance of industrial control valves.

• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators.

• Knowledge of smart positioners (HART, Fieldbus, or similar).

• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (datasheets, P&IDs, mechanical drawings).

• Intermediate English.

• Availability for offshore shifts and travel (70 to 80% of the time).

• Valid offshore certifications (e.g., CBSP, HUET or equivalents – as required by the contract), paid for by Flowserve.

• Ability to work in critical industrial environments and classified areas.

• Ability to work overtime as needed to minimize customer impact.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Good organizational skills.


Preferred Experience / Skills:


• Familiarity with industrial standards and best practices (ISA, IEC, API, ASME – desirable).
