An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of International Tax and Transfer Pricing to lead the Group’s international tax and transfer pricing function acting as the Group’s global contact for international tax and transfer pricing matters in over 40 territories.

This role reports to the SVP International Tax and involves frequent collaboration with tax specialists and other professionals within the global organisation.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading and developing the international tax and transfer pricing team displaying the expected behaviours for the role.
  • Ensuring the Group meets its global tax compliance obligations in all overseas locations including transfer pricing and Pillar 2 taxes. This involves liaising with our external advisor network and regional Rolls-Royce tax and finance teams.
  • Managing global tax disputes and audits including engagement with the regional tax teams and external advisers and engaging with local tax authorities as required.
  • Advising the businesses on managing the tax implications and risks associated with complex cross border transactions relating to new and existing business. and working with our global adviser network to source relevant tax advice when required.
  • Liaise with and support tax teams around the world to resolve international tax and transfer pricing issues.
  • Managing our global approach to transfer pricing and ensuring this is implemented consistently around the world including the transfer pricing risk strategy and use of APAs.
  • Managing international elements of group reporting and forecasting and supporting SVP International Tax with Group tax disclosure policy.
  • Overseeing UK transfer pricing advice and compliance including taking the lead on transfer pricing for the department’s work on Senior Accounting Officer, ensuring compliance with UK transfer pricing documentation requirements and monitoring UK:UK transfer pricing adjustments.
  • Actively engaging in ongoing improvement initiatives with a view to improving processes.
  • Overseeing the training of businesses and functions to ensure tax risks are understood and appropriately managed.
  • Managing ad hoc projects and advice in support of SVP International Tax and SVP Indirect Tax as required.

  • Experience working in international tax or transfer pricing in industry or practice at a senior level including developing and driving the international tax or transfer pricing strategy.
  • Experience managing dispute resolutions including dealing with tax authorities in APA and MAP situations.
  • Degree level qualification, tax qualifications or equivalent.
  • A team player with ability to liaise across multiple jurisdictions, business, and functions.
  • Experience leading and developing tax professionals and managers.
  • Strong organisational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Achievement oriented and enthusiastic.
  • Proven communication skills including ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax specialists and non-native English speakers.
  • Desire to learn and develop expertise.
